This hanging vase was crafted by Shigaraki potter Ito Kei, known for his earthy, wood-fired work that honors the wabi-sabi spirit of traditional Japanese ceramics. Made using local Shigaraki clay, the vase features a natural ash glaze, warm tones, and a rough, hand-textured surface.
The vase is finished with a small metal accent — a nod to its original use in tea rooms and entryways for hanging seasonal flowers. Today, it makes a beautiful, sculptural wall accent whether displayed on its own or with a single stem.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition with natural variation from wood firing.
