Antique Brass Catchall - Early 1900s
$115.00
A finely cast brass tray made in Germany or Austria around 1900, depicting a woman smoking. The soft curves and sculptural lines are emblematic of the Jugendstil movement, the German counterpart to Art Nouveau, which celebrated natural form and craftsmanship.
The marking “Geschützt” on the reverse indicates its design was legally protected, a detail common among small European foundries of the era. The gold-toned surface has aged into a warm patina, softening the metal’s glow and revealing subtle depth.
Condition: Good antique condition with a natural patina and minor wear consistent with age.
Dimensions: 4” W x 8” L
