Hi, I’m Ellie — a Japanese-American designer based in Los Angeles.

I grew up between New York and Japan, with many of my earliest memories shaped by time spent in cabins and on tatami mats. Looking back, those quiet, grounded spaces deeply influenced the materials and aesthetics I’ve been drawn to in my work.

I’m a sentimental and nostalgic person, which naturally shows up in how I source objects and shape my home. In an increasingly fast consumerist world, I think it’s a beautiful thing to have a meaningful connection with the things we choose to live with.

Marseille Blue is rooted in a Japanese-French design, though you’ll see traces of other cultures and aesthetics I’ve come to love. Each seasonal release is a small, curated collection — a chance to bring home something rare, storied, and truly one of a kind.

Everything is hand-sourced by me from places I’ve spent time researching and exploring, always seeking out pieces with soul and a story. Nothing too perfect or polished — just thoughtful, functional beauty made to be used, touched, and treasured over time.
