Oribe Teapot with Bamboo Handle

A Showa-era Oribe-yaki teapot from Japan, featuring the deep mossy green glaze characteristic of traditional Oribe ware. Earlier pieces often show darker greens, achieved through heavier kiln reduction—an effect visible around the spout and lid here, contrasted against a warm beige clay body with hand-painted brushwork.

The upright bamboo handle is wrapped in white linen cord, adding a simple, rustic touch. A functional piece, equally suited for everyday use or display.
