A small cast iron bear bell from Japan, traditionally used to make sound while walking through mountain trails to avoid surprising wildlife. This version is compact and weighty, with a bright orange cord and stamped seal on the side—purchased as a keepsake from a shop along the historic Tōkaidō Road.

The bell has a soft, grounding chime and works just as well hung on a door handle, bag, or hook at home.
