This hand-thrown sake set includes a tokkuri (flask) and ochoko (cup), likely fired in a wood kiln. The surfaces show rich gradients of iron-tinged clay, touched by natural ash deposits and kiln marks that can only come from wood-firing. 

Signed by the artist on the base, the set reflects the strength and subtlety of modern Japanese ceramic craft. It comes stored in its original wooden box, a traditional way to protect and present fine ceramics in Japan.

Whether used for sipping sake or displayed as an artful accent in the home, it brings a grounded, wabi-sabi spirit to any space.
